Hello friends, and thank you so much for being here. When I first started this Substack as The Young Adult Library, my goal was to share YA books and connect that work with my life as a school librarian. While I still love YA literature and my work in the library, this summer I found myself wanting more space to talk about all kinds of books and reflect on the reading life as a whole.
So … welcome to From the Library Of!
The new name comes from the classic “From the Library of…” bookplate tradition. For me, it’s personal—I carefully tucked bookplates into my favorite childhood books, and they still carry that sense of ownership and love. But bookplates are also communal. They remind us of who recommended or shared a book, sparking connection through reading. That’s the feeling I want this newsletter to carry: part personal library, part shared gathering place.
I will continue to write about and recommend YA books but they’ll now be part of a broader range of genres and books. There will be more personal reflections on reading, with space to think about what books mean in our daily lives. Some of the content may shift a little but the heart of the newsletter- a place to celebrate books and connect readers- will remain unchanged.
I’m excited to step into this new chapter! Thank you for reading, subscribing, and sharing this space with me. If you’re as eager as I am to discover new books and celebrate the joys of reading, I’d love for you to stay subscribed and continue this journey with me.

Excited to see what you recommend!
